iSize came into force in June 2013.
iSize child seats are based on the child's SIZE and AGE, rather than their weight. The first phases are only applying to ISOfix restraints and it will be slowly, fully introduced for all child seats over the coming 5 years or so.

There are a few key benefits to iSize:
- Mandatory rear facing to 15months minimum
- Introduction of a side impact test
- Top Tethers or Support Legs will be universal and must be used
- Harnesses will be made to always be left in the seat for height adjustment and cover cleaning
There will be a weight limit on iSize restraints and this is the weight of the seat + the maximum weight the child can be in that particular restraint - this information will be detailed on each child seat.
